A complication of acute bacterial pneumonia, tuberculosis or rheumatic fever, caused by multiple serofibrinous adhesions on the visceral pleura, which may, if intense, cause fibrothorax.Clinical findings
Pain and guarding on inspiration; patients often lie on the affected side to “splint”.
