Baltic-Nordic Harmonica Festival

Baltic-Nordic Harmonica Festival

JulyThe Baltic-Nordic Harmonica Festival is an international music festival that celebrates and showcases all types of harmonica playing. It has been held in the historic seaside resort town of Parnu, Estonia, each year since 2002. Most of the events are held at the Kuursaal, a summer theater that holds several small areas for performances and gatherings. Participants have come from far beyond the Baltic, from countries including Italy, France, Holland, Germany, and the United States. In 2007, more than 2,000 people attended the festival. Participants and visitors attend harmonica workshops and take part in, or listen to, competitions in a number of categories. They may even have a chance to hear something as unusual as a harmonica chorus. The overall winner of the competitions is awarded a prize of 1,000 Euros.
