Brdy
Brdy
an upland in the western part of Czechoslovakia, between the rivers Vltava (Moldau) and Berounka. It is about 100 km long. The Brdy is divided into a number of parallel ranges of siliceous shales and quartzites that rise up to 862 m (the Tok Mountain). It is covered by forest, with coniferous forests in the higher parts and mixed forests in the lower parts. There are iron and silver- and lead-bearing ores in the Brdy region.
