Location:6 miles southeast of Mexia, off State Highway 14.
Facilities:Campsites with water and electricity hookups, group camp, showers, restrooms, day-use group facility, picnic areas, screened shelters, hiking trails, nature trails, bike trails, boat ramp, dockboat rentals (seasonal), fishing pier, fish cleaning station, park store, playground, recreational hall, ball field.

Special Features:Park was named for Fort Parker, a nearby historic settlement established in 1833 that was the site of a Comanche Indian raid during which Cynthia Ann Parker was captured. During captivity, she became the mother of the last great Comanche chief, Quanah Parker. The parklands encompass the historic town of Springfield, which became a ghost town in the late 1800s. Only the cemetery remains and is the last resting place of many East Texas pioneers.
