Daylight Cinema

the showing of movies in viewing places lit by daylight or artificial lighting. Conventionally associated with daylight cinema are projection units that allow a qualitatively acceptable projection with horizontal illumination of the viewing places of higher than 30-50 lux. With an illumination of 3-5 lux the film showing is called a dusk cinema.

An ordinary movie projector is used for daylight cinema. The screen is protected from extraneous light coming from the projector side and the viewer side. There are two basic types of projection units of daylight cinema: back projection and front projection. The use of daylight cinema in the learning process makes it possible to produce notes and sketches simultaneously and to combine the showing of a film with the use of visual aids. Daylight cinema is also used at exhibits and for advertising.
