释义 | Branchiura
BranchiuraBranchiura[‚braŋ·kē′yu̇r·ə]Branchiura(carp lice), an order of crustaceans, comprising six genera with 130 species, including the genus Argulus with 109species. The Branchiura parasitize the bodies and gills of fish and sometimes amphibians. Their body length measures up to 3 cm. They are dioecious. Nearly completely formed crustaceans hatch from eggs laid by the female. Branchiura are temporary parasites and bloodsuckers. Certain species, such as Argulus foliaceus, A. coregoni, and A. japonicus, cause significant damage to commercial pisciculture; their massive invasions bring about the death of fry and adult fish. Countermeasures include improving the oxygen content of bodies of water and using pesticides such as chlorophos. Branchiura
