Location:In Almo, in south central Idaho, south of Burley.
Facilities:Under development. Primitive camping available at nearby City of Rocks National Reserve.
Activities:Hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, picnicking, wildlife viewing, rock climbing.
Special Features:Idaho's newest state park, located adjacent to City ofRocks National Reserve, is a former ranch that includes examplesof early 20th Century ranching structures, irrigated pastures, andstriking scenery. Some of its spires rival those at City of Rocks andoffer exceptional rock climbing. The park also protects some of themost pristine archeological sites in southern Idaho. Wildlife foundhere include mule deer, mountain lion, bighorn sheep, and the state'sfirst recorded ringtail. Birdwatching is also excellent.
