Location:4 miles northwest of Fort Davis, via State Highway 118.
Facilities:Campsites with full hookups, campsites with water and electricity hookups, tent camping, primitive campsites, showers, restrooms, 39-room lodge (with swimming pool and restaurant), day-use group facility, picnic areas, hiking trails, amphitheater, interpretive center, park store, playground.
Activities:Camping, hiking, backpacking, hunting (with restrictions), nature study, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Skyline Drive, the highest road in Texas, is a 74-mile scenic loop drive that winds to the park's highest ridges and provides a breathtaking view of the park and the highest peaks of the Davis Mountains. Two scenic overlooks are almost 6,000 feet above sea level. Thirteen miles west of the park on the scenic loop, travelers may tour McDonald Observatory, operated by the University of Texas. Park includes Indian Lodge, constructed in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and featuring original interiors and furnishings.
