(brä, brä′hē), Tycho 1546-1601. Danish astronomer who made the most accurate and extensive observations of the planets and stars in the age before the telescope. Brahe determined the position of 777 stars, demonstrated that comets follow regular paths, and observed the supernova of 1572, which became known as Tycho's star.
