Cinnamon Trees

 

trees or bushes of the genus Cinnamomum, whose bark yields cinnamon. They are evergreens with coriaceous leaves and small flowers that are usually gathered in a paniculate inflorescence. The best-known species are the cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum), which is cultivated in the tropics of Asia, Africa, and America, and Chinese cinnamon (C. cassia or C. aromaticum), which is cultivated only in South China, Vietnam, Laos, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and Latin America.
