Location:On KY 459, 5 miles southwest of Barbourville.
Facilities:Historic site, gift shop, picnic shelters, playground, basketballcourt, 9-hole miniature golf course, concession stand (seasonal).

Special Features:Park was named for Dr Thomas Walker, a physician and surveyor who ledthe first expedition through Cumberland Gap in 1750. He built the firstcabin in Kentucky near the river (a replica of that cabin is at thesite), which he gave the name Cumberland. Although Daniel Boone isremembered as Kentucky's most famous pioneer, Dr Walker actuallyarrived here more than 17 years earlier than Boone.
