Nocturnal paresthesia involving the hands, most often of middle-aged women; formerly attributed to a lesion in the thoracic outlet, but now known to be a symptom of carpal tunnel syndrome. Synonym(s): acroparesthaesiaacroparaesthesia Extreme sensitivity at the tips of the fingers or toes. Tingling or numbness in the extremities. The symptom may be a feature of POLYNEURITIS or of nerve compression. |
