Export Administration Review Board

Export Administration Review Board

An organization that hears and resolves disputes on American trade licensing. That is, if two or more cabinet departments disagree on whether or not to grant a company an export license, the EARB has the final decision. The Departments of Commerce, Defense, Energy, State and the Arms Control and Disarmament Agency are all voting members, while the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the CIA are nonvoting members. It was established in 1970.
