Fir Club Moss
(Huperzia selago, formerly Lycopodium selago), a plant of the family Huperziaceae. The stems are slightly suberect, dichotomously branched, and short. The sporangia are arranged singly in the axils of the leaves, with one in each axil. The fir club moss grows almost everywhere in forest and tundra zones and in the mountains of Eurasia and North America. The plant contains alkaloids and is used in medicine.
