complex permittivity

complex permittivity

[′käm‚pleks ‚pər·mə′tiv·əd·ē] (electricity) A property of a dielectric, equal to ε0(C/C0), where C is the complex capacitance of a capacitor in which the dielectric is the insulating material when the capacitor is connected to a sinusoidal voltage source, and C0 is the vacuum capacitance of the capacitor.
