(1)Uncertain; an acute exanthematous pharyngitis (scarlatina anginosa) descibed by Fothergill in his monograph of 1748, which is now thought to have included a bouquet of infections or inflammatory conditions (e.g., anginoid scarlet fever, diphtheria and other evil humours).(2) Trigeminal neuralgia [MIM 190400], formerly tic douloureux.
