Baltakis, Algimantas
Born Feb. 15, 1930, in the village of Strazdiŝkis, Utena District. Soviet Lithuanian poet.
Baltakis graduated from the history and philology department of the University of Vilnius in 1954. He began to appear in print in 1952. He has published the following collections of poetry: When It Drizzles (1955), Devil’s Bridge(1957), Four Strings (1959), Short Narrative Poems (1963), Underground Rivers (1965), and The Walking Mountain (1967).
