Eremopoa

 

a genus of plants of the family Gramineae. The annual herbs have flat or rolled-up leaf blades. The inflorescence is a spreading panicle; the spikelets have from two to nine flowers each. There are from four to six species, found from the Balkan Peninsula to Central Asia and northern India. The plants occur in the USSR in the southern Urals, the Caucasus, Middle Asia, and the southern portion of Western Siberia. They grow mainly on mountains and dry rocky slopes. E. oxyglumis, which is found in the Caucasus and Middle Asia, serves as spring pasturage for sheep and goats.
