Chu Chiang Kou
Chu Chiang K’ou
(also Bay of Canton), a bay of the South China Sea, along the southern coast of China. The bay has a length of 63 km and a width of 31 km at the mouth; its maximum depth is 26 m. The Chu Chiang (Pearl River) empties into the bay, which has numerous small islands and shoals. There are mixed tides, with a maximum height of 2.5 m. The port of Hong Kong is situated at the mouth of the bay.
