Borshchovochnyi
a mountain range on the right bank of the Shilka River in Chita Oblast, RSFSR, with a maximum elevation of 1,500 m and a length of approximately 450 km. The Borshchovochnyi Range is composed chiefly of granite. The ridge is flat and infrequently dissected, and the sides are gently sloping. The lower slopes are covered with steppe vegetation; larch taiga, which gives way to Japanese stone pine groves, predominates higher up. Gold is mined in Balei.
