Boris Pastukhov
Pastukhov, Boris Nikolaevich
Born Oct. 10, 1933, in Moscow. Soviet state, Komsomol, and party figure. Member of the Komsomol since 1949. Member of the CPSU since 1959.
The son of a member of the armed forces, Pastukhov graduated from the N. E. Bauman Moscow Higher Technical School in 1958. He began Komsomol work in the same year. He was second secretary in 1961 and 1962, and first secretary from 1962 to 1964, of the Moscow city committee of the Komsomol. Pastukhov was secretary of the Central Committee of the Komsomol from 1964 to 1977; in 1977 he became first secretary.
Pastukhov was made a candidate member of the Central Committee of the CPSU in 1966 and a member of the Central Committee of the CPSU in July 1978. A deputy to the seventh through tenth convocations of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, he became a member of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR in 1977.
Pastukhov has been awarded three orders and various medals.
