Drill Seeding

Drill Seeding

the planting of seeds one by one in rows equidistant from one another. The even distribution of seeds is achieved by seeding machines. Drill seeding is used in growing sugar beets, corn, and other row crops. The seeds are graded to ensure the precision of planting. The seedlings have an adequate feeding area from the first days of life, and they make greater use of sunlight, moisture, and soil nutrients than plants grown from seeds sown by other methods. The even distribution of plants in rows increases crop yields. It greatly reduces the amount of labor needed, since there is no need to thin out the shoots or to loosen the soil manually. Drill seeding also reduces production costs.
