Drill Head
an assembly or device (jig) on a metal-cutting machine tool, usually drilling machine, for fastening a cutting tool, such as a drill, countersink, reamer, or tap. Drill heads may have individual self-contained drives and may be equipped with one or multiple spindles. Drills heads mounted on gang and multiple-spindle drilling machines may have fixed-position spindles, as used in mass production, or spindles that can be set to various preset positions, as in lot production.
