Click the link for more information. . Communism Peak(until 1962, Stalin Peak), highest summit in the USSR. Elevation 7,495 m. Located in the Akademiia Nauk Range in the Pamirs, where the Petr Pervyi Range branches off from it. The slopes are covered for the most part with a thick layer of névé and ice. The first ascent, in 1933, was by the Soviet mountaineer E. M. Abalakov, a participant in the Tadzhik-Pamir expedition of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.
