Cardboard Box Index Cardboard Box IndexA measure of the production of cardboard boxes. The cardboard box index is used to gauge the production of consumer goods. Because the vast majority of non-durable goods are shipped in cardboard boxes, higher demand for them usually equates to higher production of these goods.
