[də′zȯrz ‚lär·va]Desor’s Larva
(named for the Swiss scientist E. Desor, 1811-1882), a pelagic or benthic larva of certain nemerteans that develop without the pilidium stage. Desor’s larva undergoes metamorphosis accompanied by the formation of the so-called imaginal disks, from which the skin and body of the young nemertean form. The larval skin falls off.
