Electrolytic Welding
a type of welding in which the parts to be welded are heated by direct current at a voltage of 110 to 220 volts in an alkaline aqueous electrolyte. The parts, which are immersed in a bath of electrolyte, constitute the cathode, and a metal plate serves as the anode. The process has not yet been perfected and is used only occasionally to weld small parts, wires, and other items made of metal.
