单词 | dissector |
释义 | dissectordis·sectD0286400 (dĭ-sĕkt′, dī-, dī′sĕkt′)DissectorDissectora television camera tube that does not store electrical charge. Dissectors are chiefly used in auxiliary automatic television systems (for example, to find the position of a light source). Upon illumination, the photocathode of a dissector emits electrons from its surface with a flow density corresponding to the distribution of the illumination on the surface. The electron image thus created on the photo-cathode is transferred by an electrical field in a uniform magnetic field that focuses the image on an electron multiplier tube. The electron image is broken down into discrete electrical signals by the magnetic field of deflection coils, which varies in two perpendicular directions with respect to the input aperture of the electron multiplier tube. These signals are then passed from the collector of the electron multiplier tube to an amplifier in the automatic system. The sensitivity of a dissector is low. V. I.
