Daniil Aleksandrovich
Born 1261; died 1303. Moscow prince, son of Alexander Nevsky, founder of the dynasty of Moscow princes. He received Moscow as his appanage from his brother, Grand Prince Dmitrii, in about 1276. In 1300 he annexed Kolomna and a number of volosts (small rural districts), and in 1303 he received Pereslavl’-Zalesskii in the will of Prince Ivan Dmitrievich.
