cholescintigraphy

A method of visualizing the biliary system by the use of a radio-active substance which, when injected into the blood, rapidly concentrates in the gallbladder and bile ducts. Failure of the gallbladder to show up suggests blockage of the cystic duct and support a diagnosis of CHOLECYSTITIS.
