Bol’shoi Kinel’
a river in Orenburg and Kuibyshev oblasts, RSFSR; a right tributary of the Samara River (Volga basin). It is 437 km long, rises on a western slope of the Obshchii Syrt, and drains an area of 15,200 sq km. Fed primarily by snow, its water level decreases sharply in summer. It is navigable by ship in the lower reaches. The cities Buguruslan and Pokhvistnevo are located on the Bol’shoi Kinel’.
