Bol’shoi Khomus-Iuriakh

 

a river in the Yakut ASSR. It rises on the northern slope of the Suor-Uiata highland, flows north, and discharges into the East Siberian Sea, west of the Alazeia River. It is 324 km long, and its basin has an area of 3,420 sq km, of which 377 sq km is occupied by about 2,600 lakes. The Bol’shoi Khomus-Iuriakh is fed by snow and rain. It freezes over at the end of September and opens up again in early June. Its right tributary is the Okulia.
