Bolotnoe

a city; administrative center of Bolotnoe Raion, Novosibirsk Oblast, RSFSR. Railroad station 126 km northeast of Novosibirsk. Population, 23,000 (1968). It has railroad-transport and food-industry enterprises, a sewing factory, and a construction materials combine. There is also a teachers’ college. Bolotnoe was first established as an inhabited area in 1805 and was reorganized as a city in 1943.
