Bokalyk Tagh
(also Marco Polo Range), a mountain range in China, in the eastern part of the K’unlun Mountains. It stretches in a lateral direction for approximately 350 km and rises to an elevation of 6,300 m. It is primarily composed of Mesozoic schist. Small (relative to altitude), flat peaks and gentle slopes covered with clastic material are characteristic. High-mountain desert landscapes predominate. There are patches of permanent snow and glaciers.
