Archidiidae

[‚är·kə′dī·ə‚dē] (botany) A subclass of the plant class Bryopsida; consists of a single genus, Archidium, unique in having spores scattered in a single layer of the endothecium and having no quadrant stage in the early ontogeny of the capsule.
