Boguchar

a city, center of Boguchar Raion, Voronezh Oblast, RSFSR. It is located on the Boguchar River (tributary of the Don), 64 km northeast of the Kantemirovka railroad station on the Voronezh-Rostov-on-Don highway. Population, 6,300 (1968). The city’s industries include the food industry (flour milling and groat enterprises and a creamery) and the building materials industry. Boguchar was founded in 1717 as a settlement and became a city in 1779.
