Bogomolov, Aleksei Fedorovich

 

Born May 20 (June 2), 1913, in the village of Sitskoe, in the present-day Smolensk Oblast. Soviet radio engineer; corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1966); Hero of Socialist Labor (1957). Member of the CPSU from 1944.

Bogomolov graduated from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute in 1937 and began working there (became a professor in 1958). His principal efforts have been in radio engineering and radio physics, including the development of large antennae to receive transmissions from the television center via the artificial satellite Molniia in the Órbita system. Bogomolov has been awarded three Orders of Lenin, two other orders, and medals.
