exotropia

Divergence of the lines of vision of the two eyes. Divergent squint. In exotropia one eye points at the object of regard, the other is directed outwards. In exotropia acquired in adult life there is usually double vision (diplopia). In childhood, the false image may be suppressed and long-term visual acuity may be affected in one eye.
