Exosomatic Organ
Exosomatic Organ
(also ectosomatic organ), a concept introduced into animal morphology by the Soviet zoologist A. N. Exosomatic organs include the skin and its appendages (feathers, hairs, scales), sense organs, and the intestinal canal and its glands.
