释义 | Chlamydomonaschlamydomonas(kləˌmɪdəˈməʊnəs)
ChlamydomonasChlamydomonasa genus of microscopic unicellular green algae of the class Volvocophyceae. Members of the genus are for the most part motile owing to the presence of two flagella on the anterior end of the body; they have two pulsating vacuoles, a red pigment-bearing corpuscle called an ocellus, and a chloroplast with a pyrenoid. The organisms reproduce by means of isogamy, heterogamy, and occasionally oogamy. The zygote produces zoospores after meiosis. The genus embraces 300 species, 100 of which are found in the USSR. With rare exceptions they inhabit fresh water, especially polluted water. ChlamydomonasChlamydomonasa flagellate, unicellular green alga now normally placed in the division CHLOROPHYTA but in many (older) texts regarded as a protozoan and placed in the class MASTIGOPHORA. It is characterized by the presence of two flagella (see FLAGELLUM and, because of the presence of CHROMATOPHORES (1), is referred to as a phytoflagellate (often given subclass status: Phytoflagellata). Reproduction is by repeated fission or varies between species from an asexual method to a sexual method of CONJUGATION where ISOGAMETES rather than differentiated male and female gametes are produced.Chlamydomonas
