Bodele
Bodele
a depression in the Southern Sahara (Sudan); part of the Lake Chad depression. Maximum elevation, 155 m. The Bodele is covered with salt marshes and sand. Rivers, which are periodically or temporarily filled with water after heavy rains, run from the slopes of the Tibesti and Ennedi highlands and flow into the Bodele, as does Wadi al-Ghazal, which is fed underground by Lake Chad. The Bodele has significant reserves of fresh ground waters and several oases.
