The EHRC is responsible for promoting and enforcing equality and non-discrimination laws in the UK related to race, gender, age, sexual orientation and religion, and to promote and protect human rights in the UK. As a non-departmental public body (“quango”), it is separate and independent from Government but still accountable for its public funds. |
