Fingers, (Roland Glen) Rollie

(1946– ) baseball pitcher; born in Steubenville, Ohio. Sporting a handlebar mustache, he was baseball's premier relief pitcher during his 17-year career with the Oakland Athletics, San Diego Padres, and Milwaukee Brewers (1968–85). By retirement, the right-hander had saved more games (341) than any pitcher in major league history (a record surpassed in 1992 by Jeff Reardon). He was elected to baseball's Hall of Fame in 1992.
