(kan'thō-pek-sē), A surgical procedure designed to tighten the lower eyelid by shortening supporting structures at the lateral canthus (lateral canthal tendon or lateral retinaculum). [canthus + -pexy]

blepharoplasty

A type of cosmetic surgery in which a drooping outer canthus of the eye is tightened by excising redundant skin and fat and raising the lateral canthal tendons.
