Chinese Geese

Chinese Geese

domestic geese descended from the wild pineal goose that inhabited Manchuria, North China, and southeastern Siberia. There are two varieties—white and brown. The Chinese goose is a good egg-producing breed, with an average yield of 30–50 eggs and a maximum of more than 90. The eggs weigh 130–140 g. Ganders weigh 4.0–4.5 kg and geese 3.8–4.0 kg. The quality of the meat is poor. Hybrids of Chinese geese with meat breeds have high egg yields and good-quality meat. Chinese geese are found in many countries, including the USSR.
