(ko-mif'o-ra) [L. Commiphora, fr Gr. kommiphora, gum-bearing] A genus of nearly 200 flowering plants, shrubs, and tress, native to Africa, Arabia, and India. Several species produce fragrant resins used for incense, perfume, and medication.
