Location:12 miles east of Altoona, in the center of the state.
Facilities:8 modern cabins, picnic area, picnic pavilions, hiking trails (8 miles), bridle trail, bike trail, beach, boat rentals, boat launch, boat mooring.
Activities:Boating (electric motors only), fishing, swimming, hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, hunting, cross-country skiing, ice boating, ice fishing, ice skating, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Park is the home of one of the largest nursery colonies of little brown bats in Pennsylvania. On summer evenings, thousands of bats can be seen exiting the old church sanctuary. A deep limestone mine is a hibernaculum (where animals hibernate) for more than 20,000 bats of six species. Geologic formations in and around the park are rich in limestone. The park has several old quarry operations.
