Cotton Stalk Puller
Cotton Stalk Puller
a machine for removing the stalks of cotton plants after the harvest of the raw cotton and bolls. It collects the stalks in bundles. In operation, the guides of the cotton stalk puller bring the cotton plants to the rotating fingerlike disks of the feeder, which grasps them. At the same time, rippers loosen the soil in the area of the root system and partially uproot the stalk. Moving between the casing of the feeder and the bars of the plant-holder, the plant proceeds to the bundleforming area. At this point the machine pulls the trapped plant out of the soil. After a bundle has been formed an automatic device releases the bars of the plant-holder, and the bundle falls onto the ground.
