Special Features:Approximately 50 greater sandhill cranes use the refuge during the summer, but more than 300 creanes use it as a staging area during the fall migration.
Habitats: 1,004 acres of made up of sedge meadow, wet prairie, marsh wetlands, fens, lowland forest, shrub-carr thickets, deep march and open water.
Access: Closed to the public except for hunters during hunting season.
Wild life: Greater sandhill crane, herons, rails, songbirds, deer, turkey, and bobwhite quail.
