Established: 1982.
Location:In Los Padres National Forest, 45 miles northwest of the Los Angeles metropolitan area.
Special Features:Two observation points are maintained in the Los Padres National Forest (see entry in national forests section).
Habitats: 897 acres of mountains, rock outcroppings, chaparral, and coniferous trees.
Access: Refuge is closed to the public due to the sensitivity of California condors and the refuge's isolation.
Wild life: Traditional summer roosting site for the endangered California condor, also quail, owls, bobcat, mountain lion, chipmunk.
